Equality & Diversity: Implementation
The responsibility for ensuring the effective implementation and operation of the equality and diversity strategy will rest with Barbra Carlisle, SHARP Director. She will ensure that staff and associates operate within the policy, and that all reasonable and practical steps are taken to avoid discrimination. Effective equality and diversity will be achieved by:
- Demonstrating commitment to the Policy by incorporating it into individual project design and execution.
- Taking responsibility for the implementation and monitoring of the Policy within each project.
- Carrying out Equality and Diversity Impact assessments as part of an approach to risk management. This will happen on tendering for work, on agreement of work programme with the client and as part of a review of final output.
- Ensure that policies and strategies are part of the corporate communication strategy.
- Ensure that all staff understand their responsibilities i.e. any form of discrimination will not be tolerated and will be treated as a serious offence which may lead to disciplinary action.
- Ensure the research associates and other subcontractors understand their responsibilities i.e. any form of discrimination will not be tolerated and will be treated as a serious offence which may lead to non payment of fees and rapid termination of contract
- Complaints of discrimination or inequality are managed effectively and dealt with promptly and thoroughly.
